Reading Fluency & Comprehension Skills Development

We believe that students need to dive into authentic literature and books at their oral language level, not always their reading level.

Because of this we make sure to incorporate strategies to help support their reading development through repeated reading opportunities and other strategies to develop fluency.

We also train students how to utilize technology such as audiobooks  to allow students to "ear-read" in order to improve listening and reading comprehension abilities.

We teach comprehension strategies explicitly so that students have a bank of different strategies they can use to really engage with text.

Check out our blog on the use of audiobooks to develop necessary reading skills!
