+ Is 5CCL a structured literacy curriculum?

No, the 5CCL Activity Library is not a structured curriculum. It is a library of resources that can be used to supplement an existing literacy curriculum or you can use the activities to design your own lessons. You can deliver the activities in any order to best support the needs of your students.

+ How is 5CCL different from the SMARTER Intervention Curriculum?

The 5CCL Activity Library is designed as a supplemental resource library with activities to target each of the 5 Core Components of Literacy. It is not designed as a structured and systematic curriculum. We use the 5CCL Activity Library to support and supplement our structured and systematic phonics-based instruction.

The library provides excellent activities to create additional engagement and practice with topics and books that students love to incorporate as part of their structured literacy instruction.

+ How do I access the resources?

When you join, you will receive a log-in where you can access the library and all of the resources.

You are able to download the resources to your computer or you can access them from our online portal.

+ How long do I have to access the resources?

You have access to the materials you download forever.

Each month, the monthly themed phonological awareness, phonics, and writing resources will change but you will have continued access to all other resources in the library including hundreds of SOR-aligned activities, the Content-Based Mini Units (Fast 5s), and the Authentic Text Literature Connections.
