Target your child’s specific needs and skill gaps

So your child can reach grade-level expectations.

Your child is struggling academically, which is impacting their confidence at school.

Maybe you’ve noticed…

Homework is a massive struggle and it creates frustration for the entire family.

Your child's academic struggles are impacting their emotions and you’re seeing outbursts at home.

You’ve tried working with tutors before but nothing seems to be working and there still seems to be an issue.

How is this different from tutoring?

We identify and work on the underlying causes of the learning difficulty instead of working on specific homework or assignments. This allows students to have the strategies to perform better on all their school work now and into the future. We don't provide subject-specific tutoring but rather provide the foundational skills and strategies students need to be able to read, write, and complete academic work effectively to close the gap and provide them with the skills they need for long-term success.

What’s included?

All Student Materials:

  • Including workbooks, learning manipulatives, and home practice activities so that your child has everything they need to be successful

Research-Based Instruction:

  • Explicit and systematic lessons that align with the latest research in cognitive and learning science

  • Data-driven instruction with dynamic lesson planning to meet the unique needs of your child

Ongoing Communication:

  • We will provide you with progress reports so that you can see your child’s growth

  • We can communicate with your school team to foster a collaborative approach to help keep everybody on the same page

What do sessions look like?

We follow a systematic and structured progression of skills in each of our programs.

Quick Warm-Up (targeting the necessary neural structures students need to be primed for effective learning): 5 minutes

Review Game or Activity (to help solidify previously-instructed concepts and to build fluency): 10 minutes

New Pattern or Strategy Introduction (to provide direct and explicit instruction in the patterns or tools your child needs to gain independence): 20 minutes

Pattern or Strategy Application (so that we can apply and generalize the pattern or strategy to different and more advanced contexts or situations): 30 minutes

Results you can expect in just 6 months of learning support:

Increase confidence and independence in the classroom.

See measurable growth in literacy, executive functioning, and/or math skills.

Close skill gaps to obtain age/grade-based expectations.

Decrease frustration and overwhelm.

Free Consultation

Set up a time for a free consultation where we will learn more about your child and help you gain clarity on next steps.

What does the process look like?

1

Questionnaire

If learning support is the best next step, we will send a questionnaire to gain further information about your child and to understand your session availability and preferences (e.g., time requests, individual or group, in-person or online).

2

Get onto the Schedule

Once we have a match with your scheduling preference, we will let you know and get you onto our weekly schedule with one of our amazing team members.

3

Program Planning

Your clinician will reach out so your child can get started! After the first few weeks, we will send over a plan with your child's baseline performance and our goals for ongoing sessions.

4

Building Skills

Once you sign off on the plan, we will get to work with your child, building those skills and closing any skill gaps!

5

Progress Report

At the end of your treatment interval, we will send a progress report and schedule a meeting so we can decide together what the next steps will look like (e.g., continuation, graduation, etc.)

Common Questions

  • We use a combination of standardized assessments and ongoing data tracking to monitor your child’s performance. We adjust our lessons using this information. The data is always shared with you, so you can be assured your child is making growth.

  • Yes! We always believe in a collaborative approach because we know it takes a village. We are happy to meet with your child's school team to coordinate services and make sure your child is getting everything they need to be successful.

  • We don’t travel to homes or schools, we provide services in our Denver-based clinic or online via Zoom.

  • This depends on your availability and current clinician availability. Once you let us know you're interested in working with us, we will send a form where we will collect information about your schedule, as soon as we have a match in your availability and clinician availability we can get you in. If your child has any daytime flexibility, we are usually able to get you right in - if you're looking for after school availability, we typically have a waitlist averaging about 2-3 months.

  • No - take this time for you! We've got everything covered but we will spend the last five minutes of the session with you to review the skills we've covered and provide ways you can support your child at home.

  • Consistent attendance is the key to academic growth, because we only see students a few hours each month, it is critical that they attend all of their sessions. We understand that things come up and so we will do our best to reschedule sessions that you need to miss. We do require 24-hours notice prior to any missed session (unless there's an emergency).
