Effective lesson planning for our reading intervention requires that we have a roadmap that we can follow! Keep reading to learn how we set up our lessons and grab your free printable curriculum roadmap!

Today, we wanted to share with you our tip on planning out your intervention lessons. We use a curriculum map that helps to outline the target skills we want to make sure we are hitting in each of our lessons.

Effective lesson planning for reading intervention requires that we have a roadmap we can follow!

We use >>this Planning guide<< to help outline our lesson structure!

We know that reading and writing are reciprocal processes and it’s so important that we target both reading and writing following the 5 Core Components of Literacy framework to make sure we are following research-backed principles. However, it can be challenging to fit it all in, and may actually take several lessons before it’s time to move onto a new pattern.

By using this outline, you can ensure that your students are hitting on all the necessary components of effective instruction!

Check out this week’s intervention tip of the week video to learn more about how we use this map! Then, jump into our FREE course, How to Create Systematic, SOR-Aligned Lesson Plans! This workshop will help you determine what actually needs to be included in a Science of Reading-based lesson, how to build a lesson plan based on the Science of Reading, and how to optimize your lesson plans. Plus, we’ll share our lesson planning guides!
